Electronic cigarette resistors: choose the right model

The resistance for electronic cigarettes is an essential part of the operation of a cleaner or compatible cartridge. It contains a heating element and material to absorb the e-liquid. During use, the heating element transforms the liquid into an aerosol.

At RoyalCig find a selection of replacement resistors for different models of electronic cigarettes. The choice of resistance depends on the brand, the compatible range, its ohms value and the power recommended by the manufacturer.

Before any purchase, check the exact reference of your cleaner, pod or kit. Two similar resistors are not necessarily interchangeable.

How to choose resistance compatible with your electronic cigarette?

Compatibility is the first criterion to be considered. Each manufacturer develops resistance families for certain devices.

To find the right model, check the following:

• The mark:Aspire, Vaporesso, Innokin or the manufacturer of your device.
• The range:Some resistance families are compatible with several models, but not necessarily with all devices of the brand.
• The value in ohms:It must match the possibilities of your equipment.
• The recommended power:expressed in watts, it is usually shown on the resistance or its specification.
• The type of draw:Some resistances are designed for indirect inhalation, others for direct inhalation.

The trade name and the complete reference of the resistance remain the most reliable means of verifying its compatibility.

Understanding resistance values in ohms

The value of a resistance is expressed in ohms (s). It corresponds to its electrical resistance and is one of the important characteristics of the heating element.

Low-value resistances

Low-value resistors, often called subohm when less than 1 Ω, are frequently associated with equipment operating with greater power and a suitable air flow.

However, the ohms value alone is not sufficient to determine the power to be used or the type of inhalation. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Higher-value resistance

Higher-value resistors are often present on electronic cigarettes intended for use in indirect inhalation (MTL), with a generally tighter draw.

However, their behaviour depends on their design and the device used.

Mesh resistance or classic resistance: what difference?

One resistance mesh Generally, a metal grid-shaped heating element is used, rather than a simple coiled resistive wire.

This design allows the heat to be distributed over a different surface and can influence the aromatic rendering and the functioning of the resistance.

Traditional wire resistors remain present in many ranges, especially on certain devices for indirect inhalation.

The choice between mesh and classic thread depends on the design of the material, compatibility and use preferences.

Resistances Aspire, Vaporesso and Innokin

Manufacturers offer different resistance families. Selecting a brand is not enough: it is necessary to identify the exact range for your cleaner or electronic cigarette.

Resistances Aspire Nautilus BVC

The resistances Aspire Nautilus BVC belong to a family of resistances developed for certain cleaners and compatible devices in the Nautilus range.

The version and reference of the material should be checked before selecting a strength value.

Resistances Vaporesso GTX

The resistors Vaporesso GTX exist in different values and versions, including mesh models. Their compatibility can vary depending on generations of cleaners, pods and Vaporesso kits.

Check the list of equipment compatible with each GTX reference before purchase.

Resistances Innokin Z-Coil

The resistors Innokin Z-Coil are used in several Zenith and Zlide range equipment, depending on the compatible versions.

For a Zlide D22 cleaner mounted on an electronic Créavap pipe, the choice of resistance must take into account both the mechanical compatibility and the electrical characteristics of the e-pipe.

When should an electronic cigarette resistance be changed?

One Electronic cigarette resistance is a consumable whose life depends on equipment, e-liquid and conditions of use.

Several signs may indicate that replacement is necessary:

• A gradual decrease in flavour rendering.
• A persistent burning taste.
• Unusual aerosol production.
• An irregular operation despite a properly filled tank.

These symptoms may also have other causes. Before changing the resistance, check the e-liquid level, the power settings and the general condition of the cleaner.

There is no identical lifetime for all resistances.

How to start a new resistance?

The starting a resistance means allowing the absorbent material to soak properly with e-liquid before first use.

For interchangeable resistance, follow the manufacturer's procedure. It usually involves installing the resistance correctly, filling the tank and then waiting for the recommended time before use.

Some manufacturers also advocate prior humidification of accessible absorbent parts. This operation should only be carried out when provided for in their instructions.

When first used, follow the power range indicated for resistance and commissioning recommendations.

What e-liquid use with its resistance?

Composition PG/VG the e-liquid influences its viscosity. Some feeding systems work mainly with relatively fluid liquids, while others are designed for compositions richer in plant glycerin.

E-liquids50/50 PG/VG are used in many compatible equipment, including some cleaners for indirect inhalation.

E-liquids richer in VG require a suitable diet. Liquid that is too viscous for resistance can lead to poor impregnation of absorbent material.

Always check the manufacturer's guidance regarding the PG/VG ratio and recommended power.

Resistances for pods, cleaners and e-pipes

Replacement of resistance varies by type of electronic cigarette.

Some pods, the strength is integrated into the cartridge: the complete cartridge must then be replaced. On other models, the resistance is interchangeable.

The cleaners can use different resistance families, with specific fastening systems and compatibilitys for each manufacturer.

The Electronic pipes equipped with an interchangeable resistance cleaner also require a compatible reference. In mechanical models, the electrical stresses of the apparatus must be respected.
