Electronic Cigarette Clearomizer: How to choose the right model?

The Electronic cigarette cleaner is an element that accommodates the e-liquid and the resistance charged to heat it. It usually consists of a tank, base, chimney, air inlet system and a mouthpiece called rip tip.

At RoyalCig find a selection of cleaners adapted to different types of electronic cigarettes. Some models favour tight indirect inhalation (LIM) circulation, while others offer greater air circulation for aerial circulation.

To choose a compatible model, you must check the connector, diameter, resistance used and the characteristics of your box or battery.

Different types of cleaners

MTL Clearomizer: indirect inhalation

One MTL cleaner(Mouth To Lung) is designed for indirect inhalation: the aerosol is first sucked into the mouth before being inhaled.

These cleaners usually offer a relatively tight draw, with resistances adapted to their design. Among the known references of this universe are the Nautilus Aspire and Zenith or Zlide Innokin.

Clearomizer DL: direct inhalation

One DL cleaner(Direct Lung) is designed for direct inhalation. It usually has larger air intakes and resistances adapted to its operation.

The power ranges can be higher depending on the models. It is essential to check that the box and the resistance used are compatible with these characteristics.

Clearomizer RDL: direct inhalation restrictive

The RDL cleaner offers an intermediate draw, less tight than some MTL systems, but more restrictive than very aerial DL equipment.

Some cleaners can allow several inhalation styles thanks to their resistance and airflow settings.

How to check the compatibility of a cleaner with its box?

The compatibility of a cleaner is not limited to its appearance. Several characteristics must be taken into account.

• Connectivity:Many cleaners use a 510 screw step, but this feature must be checked.
• The diameter:too wide a cleaner may exceed the box or may not be compatible with its location.
• Power:the battery or box must allow the resistance to be used within the recommended range.
• Resistance:Each cleaner operates with one or more specific families.
• The mode of operation:Some configurations require special electrical precautions.

A compatible 510 connector alone does not guarantee that the entire installation can be used in good conditions.

Understanding the resistances of a cleaner

The Clearometer resistance contains a heating element and material to absorb the e-liquid. It is a consumable part that must be replaced when its operation deteriorates.

Resistances exist in different values expressed in ohms. Some use a traditional resistive wire, while others have a mesh structure.

Their choice shall respect the references compatible with the cleaner and the power range indicated by the manufacturer.

When to change the resistance?

Decreasing flavour rendering, burning taste or unusual functioning may indicate that resistance should be replaced.

The life span varies depending on the e-liquid composition, settings and frequency of use.

When replacing, ensure that the resistance is correctly started as recommended by the manufacturer.

Clearing unit with top or bottom filling

The Upper filling cleaners, also called top-fill, allow access to the filling hole from the top of the tank, usually by lifting or unscrewing a part intended for this purpose.

Other models use lower filling or a specific mechanism.

In all cases, the manufacturer's procedure should be followed, the central duct should not be filled with air and the system should be properly closed.

Which capacity to choose for a cleaner?

The capacity of electronic cigarette tank is expressed in millilitres (ml). It indicates the maximum amount of e-liquid it may contain.

Models marketed in the European Union for products covered by the applicable rules generally have a maximum capacity of 2 ml.

The capacity indicated on a product sheet must always be checked to determine the exact characteristics of the version sold.

What is the airflow of a cleaner?

The airflow means the airflow system of the cleaner. On adjustable models, it allows to change the air circulation during use.

A more restrictive setting can produce a tighter draw, while a larger opening usually allows a more aerial suction.

However, the operating conditions prescribed by the manufacturer shall be respected. An airflow setting does not necessarily transform an MTL cleaner into a DL cleaner.

Which e-liquid chooses for its cleaner?

The compatibility of a e-liquid with a cleaner depends in particular on its PG/VG ratio and the resistance used.

Compositions50/50 PG/VG are used in many compatible cleaners, especially in certain models for indirect inhalation.

Liquids rich in plant glycerin are generally more viscous. They require a suitable feeding system to ensure correct impregnation of the resistance.

The choice of liquid must always respect the manufacturer's specifications and equipment characteristics.

Clearers Aspire, Innokin and other brands

Several manufacturers offer cleaners with different characteristics in drawing, resistance and maintenance.

The cleaners Aspire Nautilus

Family Aspire Nautilus includes several cleaners and versions associated with specific resistances. The exact compatibility between different generations should be verified.

Innokin Zenith and Zlide cleaners

The ranges Innokin Zenith and Innokin Zlide are known in particular for their configurations intended for indirect inhalation.

Depending on the models, they use Innokin Z-Coil compatible resistors.

What cleaner for an electronic Créavap pipe?

The artisanal electronic pipes Créavap may be associated with cleaners compatible with their model and configuration.

At RoyalCig, some configurations of the Bent, Billiard, Dublin and Gandalf models are offered with the Zlide D22 Innokin.

For an e-pipe, it is important to check the maximum accepted diameter, connection 510 and electrical characteristics of the model.

On a mechanical e-pipe, the compatibility of the resistance with the accumulator and the electrical operation of the apparatus shall be checked with particular attention.

How to maintain and clean a cleaner?

Regular maintenance ensures the condition of the joints, tank and other demountable parts.

To clean a cleaner, read the package leaflet and remove only the items provided for. Some non-electronic parts can be rinsed according to the manufacturer's instructions and then dried completely before winding.

Resistances shall not be cleaned in a manner contrary to the recommendations of their manufacturer. Electronic components and batteries must never be immersed.

A tank cracked or leaking due to deterioration shall be repaired with a compatible or replaced part.
