10ml E-Liquids: Understanding Bottle Sizes, Flavours and Nicotine Strengths

10ml e-liquid is a common format for e-cigarettes. When sold as a finished e-liquid, it comes in a ready-to-use bottle that does not require DIY preparation. Depending on the product, e-liquids are available without nicotine or with different nicotine strengths.

At RoyalCig, discover a selection of 10ml e-liquids in various flavour categories: tobacco, fruity, dessert, menthol and cooling flavours. To choose a product suitable for your device, check its PG/VG composition, nicotine concentration if applicable, and the recommendations of your e-cigarette manufacturer.

Why Choose a 10ml Bottle of E-Liquid?

The 10ml bottle is a practical option for users looking for ready-to-vape e-liquid with its composition and nicotine strength clearly displayed on the label.

It also makes it possible to explore different recipes without preparing a larger quantity of liquid yourself.

For nicotine-containing e-liquids, 10ml is the maximum refill bottle size permitted under European regulations. The nicotine concentration must not exceed 20 mg/ml.

Different 10ml E-Liquid Flavours

Fruity 10ml E-Liquids

Fruity e-liquids offer flavour profiles inspired by red berries, citrus fruits, exotic fruits or blends of several fruits. Some recipes combine these flavours with a cooling sensation.

Dessert 10ml E-Liquids

Dessert e-liquids feature flavour combinations inspired by vanilla, caramel, biscuits and various pastries. Recipes vary depending on the brand and product.

Tobacco-Flavoured 10ml E-Liquids

Tobacco-flavoured e-liquids are inspired by light tobacco, dark tobacco or more elaborate tobacco blends. Some recipes also feature woody, roasted or dessert notes.

Menthol and Cooling 10ml E-Liquids

Menthol and cooling e-liquids may offer a mint flavour, a refreshing sensation or a combination with other flavour categories. The intensity of the cooling effect depends on the formulation.

Nicotine Strengths in 10ml E-Liquids

E-liquids may be available without nicotine or with different concentrations expressed in mg/ml. Depending on the products available, the following strengths may be offered:

• 0 mg/ml: nicotine-free e-liquid.
• 3 mg/ml: formulation containing 3 mg of nicotine per millilitre.
• 6 mg/ml: formulation containing 6 mg of nicotine per millilitre.
• 12 mg/ml: formulation containing 12 mg of nicotine per millilitre.
• 18 mg/ml: formulation containing 18 mg of nicotine per millilitre.
• 20 mg/ml: the maximum permitted nicotine concentration for e-liquids marketed under these regulations.

Not all strengths are necessarily available for every product. The choice should take into account the habits of an adult smoker and the characteristics of the equipment used. Nicotine is addictive, and nicotine-containing e-liquids are not suitable for non-smokers.

Freebase Nicotine and Nicotine Salts: What Are the Differences?

10ml e-liquids may contain nicotine in different formulations, including conventional freebase nicotine and nicotine salts.

These formulations have different chemical characteristics and may produce different sensations when inhaled. Depending on the composition, nicotine salts may provide a less pronounced throat sensation at the same concentration.

Compatibility with the equipment and the chosen nicotine strength must always be checked. A milder sensation does not mean that an e-liquid contains less nicotine or is risk-free.

Which PG/VG Ratio Should You Choose for a 10ml E-Liquid?

E-liquid generally contains propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerin (VG) and flavourings, with or without nicotine.

50/50 PG/VG E-Liquids

A 50/50 PG/VG e-liquid contains equal proportions of propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin. This composition is used with many devices, provided it is compatible with their coils.

High-PG E-Liquids

A higher proportion of PG generally produces a less viscous liquid. Some compact e-cigarettes are designed to operate with relatively thin e-liquids.

High-VG E-Liquids

A higher proportion of vegetable glycerin generally produces a thicker liquid. These formulations require a liquid delivery system and coils capable of handling this viscosity.

There is therefore no universal PG/VG ratio suitable for every e-cigarette.

Which 10ml E-Liquid Should You Use with a Pod or Vape Kit?

Choosing an e-liquid for a pod system or vape kit mainly depends on the specifications of the cartridge or clearomizer used.

Some compact pods use coils designed for relatively thin liquids. Other devices accept different formulations, depending on their technical specifications.

Before filling the tank, check that the PG/VG ratio and, where applicable, the nicotine concentration are compatible with the coil and the manufacturer's recommendations.

How to Store a 10ml E-Liquid

To keep your e-liquid in suitable conditions, follow the storage instructions on its packaging. It is generally recommended to keep bottles tightly closed, away from direct sunlight and excessive temperatures.

Also check the label information, including the batch number, precautions for use and any date specified by the manufacturer.

E-liquids must always be kept out of reach of children and pets. In the event of accidental contact with a nicotine-containing liquid, follow the precautions indicated on the product.
